I believe that within every person is the resiliency and strength to overcome life’s challenges. Hope and healing occur as we develop self-compassion, increase self-awareness, and implement simple and effective coping skills into our daily lives. We grow as we learn to better understand ourselves and approach life in ways that are congruent with our unique identities and values. I am passionate about my work because I believe that we all have the capacity to excel and find joy in the journey of our lives.
I encourage my clients to start their journey of self-discovery and healing with bravery and determination. These attributes are essential to begin to listen to one’s inner self and become the person one aspires to be. I began my own journey of self-discovery and healing nearly a decade ago and realized the value of a strong therapeutic relationship. I am dedicated to providing each of my clients with the support and compassion they need to heal and progress. Utilizing the newest research available, I tailor each session to help my clients discover new skills and strengths to add to the tools they already have. I define success in my work when my clients feel empowered and achieve their goals.
Through my training as a social worker I have experienced and used a variety of effective skills including mindfulness and mind-body based interventions such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and lifespan integration (LI), as well as more traditional methods including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT).
